If you know me at all, you know I love turning something you might otherwise throw away into something cute and useful. Enter the up cycled glassware!
At the end of last year, Bombay Sapphire invited me to get creative with their glassware. Even though cocktails aren’t on the menu right now, creativity certainly is so I jumped at the chance. I was a bit nervous at first about this project because it’s way out of my comfort zone, but I’m so glad I took the plunge. I’ve made a video you can watch below all about how to do it.
The materials you need for this project are surprisingly simple!
- An empty bottle
- A glass cutter (I used this one)
- 400 grit wet and dry sandpaper
- Boiling and cold water in two jugs
- A bucket
- Safety equipment: goggles, gloves and a mask.

Before you get started, make sure to wear safety equipment for this project! Goggles and gloves at a minimum, and also a mask if you have one. One thing to note is that sometimes if the score isn’t done properly the glass may crack away from the score or down the side of the bottle. So make sure to practice this one before you try it on any special or favorite bottles.
